Americana, roots, rock drummer

Nashville studio and touring drummer

From musical roots

Born and raised in Frankenmuth, Michigan, I was surrounded by music growing up. From Bavarian-themed music festivals, school band projects, rock bands with friends, and a family with deep musical roots, music has always been a big part of my life.

My grandmother played everything from tuba, fiddle, drums, piano, and hammer dulcimer. She even inspired the name of a now very famous rock band from my hometown: Greta Van Fleet.

I picked up my first pair of drumsticks when I was 3 years old. Since then, I’ve lived and traveled all over the country playing music. In 2021 I started touring with Elektra Records recording artist, Myron Elkins.

I’ve had the opportunity to open for bands such as Kaleo, Lucero, Marcus King, Charlie Crocket, Blackberry Smoke, Dawes, Whitey Morgan, Shane Smith and the Saints, 49 Winchester, Lucas Nelson, War and Treaty, The Cadilac Three, and more.

Drum tracking and demo studio

I have a small home studio in Nashville, TN and I love working with new songwriters to track live drums and demos. Reach out to discuss your project!

Jake Bartlett, Live drum track on SoundBetter

“Playing fast around the drums is one thing. But to play music, to play with people for others to listen to, that’s something else. That’s a whole other world.”
